April 16, 2015 - Regular Meeting Agenda Item #7 Item Title C-7 State of Florida Statewide Voluntary Prekindergarten Provider Contract for 2015 Summer VPK and 2015-2016 School Year VPK Program Issue/Rationale The contract between Episcopal Children's Services and the Clay County School District is important because it is required for our district to offer VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten).  By statute we are only required to offer a summer VPK program.  However, the Instructional Division is committed to providing free VPK to the citizens of Clay County year-round.  VPK helps build readiness for kindergarten.  It is a win-win for parents, students, teachers, schools, and our district as a whole.  The VPK contract with Episcopal Children's Services has been updated by the State of Florida's Department of Early Leaning.  Agreement/Contract Review Form has been submitted and completed through the Purchasing Department. Recommended Action Approve contracts as submitted.
